    We are so excited to announce that our Chapter will  receive a very special honor called the 3rd Annual H. Scott Thompson Memorial Award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9233 on Saturday November 11, 2006. 
   The award will be presented to the Mt. Vernon FFA Chapter for over 22 years of developing community leaders and service leaders for our Jefferson County Community.  
   The Chapter will be presented the award during a special ceremony in the center court at the Times Square Mall in Mt. Vernon. The Mt. Vernon FFA members will be involved with the flag detail, military ceremony and escorting of the Gold Star Mother as she places the roses on Flander’s Field.
Mr. Kabat will also receive an award known as the “Cross of Malta” for his dedication and leadership.
