Fourteen members of the Mt. Vernon FFA Chapter attended the 81st Illinois FFA Convention in Springfield on June 9-11, 2009.  While in Springfield, members receievd multiple awards for their hard work and dedication over the past year, and was named the 9th highest FFA Chapter in the State.  The following is a list of awards won at convention.


Triple Gold FFA Chapter Award – 60 of a total of 335 high school agriculture departments in Illinois received this award.

 

National Chapter Award National Finalist- The Mt. Vernon FFA Chapter is among 32 other FFA Chapters that will advance to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 19-23, 2009 as a National Finalist Chapter.

 

State Winner in Student Development – 1st in state in Student Development Program of Activities

 

Gold in Illinois in Student Development – 1st in Section 21 with our Student Development Program of Activities.

 

Gold in Chapter Development- 1st in Section 21 with our Chapter Development Program of Activities.

 

Gold in Illinois in Community Development- 1st in Section 21 with our Community Development Program of Activities.

 

Superior Chapter – In Illinois for an outstanding Program of Activities

 

Gold in Farm Bureau Heritage Program and 1st in Section 21- Josh Donoho will travel to Washington D.C. for the award tour on July 12-17, 2009

 

Outstanding President Award- David Clifton received a silver award for being an outstanding president for Mt. Vernon FFA Chapter.

 

State FFA Degree - Mallory Adams was awarded the State FFA Degree for being the top 3% FFA members in Illinois.
